Volunteer Opportunities

Future Business Leaders of America seeks volunteers representing a variety of industries and life experiences to support one of four national conferences this fall. Our volunteer opportunities are designed to  bridge the gap from what students learn in the classroom to the real world.

About the Career Connections Conference
FBLA Collegiate Career Connections Conference is a fast paced, high-impact program focused on connecting talented individuals with leading employers. This is not just a meet and greet conference, it’s about getting what it takes to succeed in a challenging job market—interviewing techniques, building a personal brand, and navigating your early career.
Volunteer Opportunities
  • Workshop Presenter – Volunteers are invited to propose workshop topics that would help college students make a smooth transition from school to career. Topics might include networking, resume writing, interviewing best practices, leadership skills in a new role, recruitment, etc.
  • Panelists – Panels engage multiple speakers in a discussion about a common theme and each panelist should offer a unique perspective.
    • Landing the Job (Individuals who have served in some capacity related to hiring e.g. recruiters, hiring managers, etc.)
    • Young Professionals Panel (Individuals who have entered the workforce within the last 5 years)
    • Executive Leadership Panel (Individuals who have served in leadership roles at their respective companies)
  • Networking Reception – Volunteers are invited to attend a networking reception in which current students will have the opportunity to put their networking skills to the test and meet both other FBLA Collegiate members and members of the business community with the goal of building connections that could support their professional development.
  • Resume Reviewer – Volunteers are invited to provide feedback on resumes and/or LinkedIn profiles to members of our college division in a one-on-one setting. Each session will last approximately 20 minutes and reviewers will be provided with an advisory guide with tips for feedback.
  • Informational Interviewees – Volunteers are invited to participate in informational interviews with our members as they begin their job search. Whenever possible, students will be paired with volunteers representing industries of interest to them. The goal of each interview is to provide students with a better understanding of the types of roles available to them in that industry, insight into what they might want to look for when assessing potential companies, and tips for landing a job in the field.
  • Case Study Judges – Volunteers are invited to judge student presentations during our case study competitions in the areas of finance, accounting, and hospitality & tourism. Judges will receive training and will be provided scoring rubrics.
